It probably crashes. You can verify that by starting the emulator from an xterm.
/usr/bin/gvm/gvm
Then click the 'home' icon, select the application. You'll probably see a stream of backtrace in the xterm window, possibly with 'segment violation' or some such. If you see something completely different and interesting, please tell!

I don't know the application in question - does it use Bluetooth? Because the GVM can't use BT directly, as far as I can tell.
