Yeah, this is what I do. My Camry has a charger in the center console, so I just leave it plugged in there (powers off when the keys are out) and set it on the dash when I want to use it (I could use it from the center console, actually, I just like extreme accuracy ).

Only problem with this method is that the Lion batteries don't like the hot Florida summers very much (well, hot Florida all-the-time ) and capacity with the battery that's in there has already dropped by about 20%. Good news is that it works with Nokia BL-5C batteries, of which I have a ton of from my old 6682.
