Toronto isn't too bad, but for the wrong reasons. Every coffee shop has Telus or Bell hotspots and the downtown core is covered by Toronto Hydro's MetroNet. All are pay, and all have absolutely ridiculous hourly rates. (About $9/hr, $20/day, $35/month) or something like that. If it was $1/hr, I'd have no problem hooking up while I was waiting for a friend.

Otherwise, in the northern areas of downtown, are lined with shops that have 2-3 levels of apartments up top. I uh... sometimes 'borrow' from those that don't lock down their access points.
