If you want to redesign hildon, then you can not use
Qt Quick. Hildon is an extension to GTk (some extra
widget, some extra (maemo5-related) functions and
of course the hildon theme).
You can implement some of your changes with a custom
theme. For other things you may have to reimplement
the maemo5 hildon desktop (hildon-statusbar, hildon-home
and hildon-desktop).

It is not impossible, but you need a developer who is
familiar with GTK and hildon-desktop/home.
