Oh I get it.. if you open the Media Player up you can actually raise the volume beyond what the system volume slider allows.

No, there's no way to do that for pyRadio currently. I'm not even sure how I would.. when/if I get a chance to mess with pyRadio again I will check out what my old volume slider would set it to when I went up to 100. It would seem logical to me that the system slider goes up to 100 and the Media Player is somehow pushing it beyond that... but I might be wrong and the system slider only goes to 50 or something.

Or it could be the N8x0 uses the sliders differently and the master volume is entirely separate from the media playing volume. Either way.. interesting find.. but nothing the app can do about it right now .
