I hope banning Blackberry & Skype etc. doesn't give India a false sense of security. Any phone running Linux should be quite easy to set up to do its own encryption and decryption of calls. Doing the same thing on iOS or Android phones shouldn't be much more difficult. Anyway can't people in India make Skype calls via their PC or notebook?

This looks like another of those poorly thought through, knee-jerk regulations promulgated in the name of "anti-terrorism" which will cause mass inconvenience to millions of ordinary law-abiding people - while it will have little or no effect on the real terrorists who will almost instantly find a way to get round this inconvenience.
