I think MeeGo is 'off the radar' for senior management right now.
They're entirely focussed on delivering the 1st WP phones.
So they don't have have the slightest clue how it's being reported.
Nor care all that much...

That doesn't give blogs 'carte blanche' to say what they want w.o disclaimers.
But that's not gunna stop em: "Never let the truth, get in the way of a good story."
Ever heard of this old saying: "Don't believe everything you read/see."
Apply that maxim to the internetz, and multiply it 100-fold!

Plus it makes no sense that Elop would say that just before a product is released.
Sure it's not longer the main platform, but to put the kibosh on their RTI like that defies business logic.
They can plug WP strongly and greatly increase it's chance of success compared to MeeGo.
And they can do that successfully without having to sabotage MeeGo in the media.
They only one doing the sabotaging in relation to this aspect of MeeGo (no future devices), is the media.
