> Initially no, but 2nd time it was a snap.

> Verizon

> Avoiding 3G access, so I'm just using regular minutes (free nights & weekends!)

6. What else should users know about that phone/provider/plan?

> There used to be a bug in OS2006 (not sure about other OSes) where choosing "Verizon" in the operator wizard would prevent the connection for working. Choose any other provider ("Sprint" for example), then go back and edit the settings to be verizon specific.
In the Samsung u740, you can force the phone to only use CDMA and not connect to EVDO, and use normal minutes instead of having a data plan. Not recommended for heavy / fast use.
