No one's clamoring, we just want to see what it's like, & draw our conclusions then.
You're the only one convinced of it's condition before it's out, far more than anyone else.

An abomination between meego/maemo?
Why do you keep talking about that red-herring.
As if that's some kind of massive tragedy...
It's still freaking maemo6 + meego-core compatibility layer, you still don't get that?

The open Vs closed question has been answered.
There's little to no difference there, yet you still choose to ignore that?

Base and Middle-ware's still basically just as open/closed.
UI's a bit more closed than Maemo, but it's not as though Maemo's UI was ever a 'beacon of openness'.
And why does everything have to be open anyway?
If something is advertised as open, doesn't mean it's suggesting "open slather" open.
Anyone that knows the OSS world & it's history, knows that's rarely the case, nor practical.

Plus if you'd made any attempt at following developments in the MeeGo community.
You'd know that the closed UI is somewhat of a misnomer, based on developments actually occurring wrt that.
But I'll let you read-up to understand what I'm talking about there.

Your mileage may, indeed, vary--but based on specs and details alone I'm not sure there's anything you can tell me that makes my opinion any less personal and invalid.
You're not wrong there...
In the face of any positive developments, you've only ever had eyes for negative ones.

This is also the relevance to what we're discussing--there are barely any people who can comment. You aim to dismiss dissenting opinion but I think daperl was one of the few (don't remember the others) with a good valid set of experiences based on actually using one and THAT observation was valuable.
And yet none of the real-word experiences shared, have been the slightest bit appeasing.
CBF'd addressing all the other 'broken record' points...
Same stuff that's been addressed time and time again.

You're already convinced in your position, & nothing that can be said will change that.
You're just hoping to take a few people with you on your way out the door.
c0d3rr0r will eagerly come, take him with you won't you?

I'll be out soon too, but I do things in halves, not absolutes.
So I'll pop back in from time-to-time, after playing about with Android/iOS etc. again.
