On Twitter I even heard a joke saying the scale of Elop's error is so big, the term 'Osborne Effect' becomes obsolete now, and is now known as the 'Elop Effect'.
"Elop Effect" is in fact a different, but much worse, scenario of Osborne Effect, as Osborne only mistakenly killed his current line of product in favor of his own unreleased product, but Elop deliberately kills his current line of product in favor of someone else's product which was immediately declared obsoleted by its producer.
