But if it uses 1271/3x radio series from TI, then there's no way it could be using 1271/3L.

Did you not see that forum link DeeGee provided? (see posts #111 to 117)
It shows that we won't see phones using 1271/3L till the EOY, or maybe not till Q1.

So if the N9 is using the 1271/3x radio family...
It's hardware (this yr & maybe forever) will only support a/b/g/n + BT2.1.
