Nothing will happen, you can carry on using your N900 with what is currently available from the download section of this community, cssu will probably get slightly better but forget MeeGo for the N900 it will never work properly (prove me wrong )

Even with PR 1.3 it still a usable device even with no additions so yes the N900 will stay alive and kicking for as long as you want .
