I reckon it's subjective and not really quicker. The speed limiting of OS2007 is part of the kernel, isn't it? And you can easily verify that has been downgraded by doing a "uname -a" in xterm. Even the bogomips rating is kind of useless. I've often done "something" to my PC that is supposed to make it "faster" and for a few minutes it does feel quicker... but then I realise it isn't and it's all my own perception.

Actually, on the point of subjective impressions it's kinda weird the OP would experience an increased snappiness of his retrofitted Itablet. One would expect it would have felt more sluggish after the fantabulous speed of ITOS2008.
