no problem. You can apply that to many different situations. We know basic human behavior in a particular environment. I think we've all done this or seen it where we prefer some shop because they have a better choice or hear people saying "they have a better/wider choice" we all want choice and power and control over our own decisions and actions. Companies know this so they try and direct your choices so all roads still lead to them.

It's cool to have an "App" and when people are bored they download the latest "app" even thought they can use their pc or play the game properly on their pc or console, it's cool to do it on a phone. i'm all for 1000's of crapware up there if it makes people feel better about their choice, if it means more users = more developers = more quality programs/games etc for that system.
