promiscuous mode is not something you can get through software is a capacity it has inherent of the hardware, many wireless cards will not have monitor or promiscous mode no matter what drivers you put on them, however many cards support monitor mode but promiscuous mode is a very rare quality only some cards support, we are very luckily to have in our N900 a card who support everything: monitor, promiscuous, inyection and is very sensitive too, almost look like a profesional wifi card to auditing networks.

The only way to know if support promiscuous mode is someone who has a N950/N9 run ettercap (or some other sniffer) on it, and see if can sniff packets from other ip or not.
