Well, if it is true, it certainly follows suit of the path of all OSS-commercial projects. The OSS community is good for the dirty work and once a half baked product is emerging, the industry slowly and quietly makes it their own. Maemo seemed like an exception until Nokiosoft dropped it. There are no free lunches and publicly listed companies usually have a hard time justifying contributing to projects that don't guarantee $$$ in return.
