If nothing else, this might be leverage somehow--or maybe they're genuinely considering growing past Android and into something more desktop-powerful on efficient processors for mobile laptops and tablets that Android might not quite satisfy. Android is a source of revenue for Microsoft - vague patents that have yet to be explained in full detail. Samsung is paying Microsoft doubly. Tizen might resolve that, but it's far too early.
