If I did that, I wouldn't have gotten an N900, since it's far more closed than the FreeRunner I already had. Except the FreeRunner couldn't actually do things reliably, like get calls, or run on it's battery for more than 8 hours.

I'm all about improving the world of opensource, and using it where it's feasible. But I also live in the real world, where sometimes closed is the only viable option to get a task done.
again there IS open alternatives instead of flash and flash often crash/hangs firefox on my linuxboxes and eating cpu.

I am not a fanatic opennsource guru and knows very well that not all can be open but in case of flash there is alternatives.
