Unless you're saying that Maemo's openness has become closer to android's level (or the other way around), which is arguably true.
There ya go--you're STARTING to get it. As for readily flashable--let's not forget what I just finished pointing out in that message--Samsung, Motorola, HTC and surprisingly even SONY are actively helping people by providing the means to root and flash their own devices. So.. yah. While Android is moving in the direction of more and more open and willing to work with their communities and the Android community at large--Nokia is clearly and inarguably, swiftly and steadily moving in the opposite direction.
