What's been done: I have imported&installed two certificates to the N9 cert store. I have added our server's non-qualified domain name to the hosts-file on N9. I can access the Exchange server using N9's browser without a problem: pointing the N9 browser to the server's non-fqdn address (which I entered to the hosts file) takes the browser to the landing page on the Exchange server without complaining/asking anything about the self-signed cert.

Then, I've set up all the settings in MfE client exactly the same way as on the N900. Tried with and without provisioning. The "settings wizard" attempts to make a contact with Exhange server (no popups about certs or anything) for a few minutes and fails with message "no response from Exhange server, check your settings".

I can't get any further than this and there are no logs I could use at /var/logs. Am a bit frustrated already.

Update on my part: I set up MfE while connected to our internal WiFi using server internal name (so no certificates needed), and it worked flawlessly. So now I have MfE while in office . Actually even that is better than nothing as at least I can do a sync before leaving office and thus have an offline copy of calendar and mail with me.

Getting the certificates working would be nice though...
