Good post, with many reasonable points. I agree that the reality of day-to-day use of WP7 is probably not the ghoulish nightmare that I and others like to imagine it as. It has many, many flaws - which I enjoy discussing simply because I am ideologically opposed to it and everything I see in its life support machinery.

Of course many of us have taken the events of February rather personally, and that sometimes leads to hyperbole and unprovoked attacks (at least on my part, anyway). We all know that these things are strongly political here. Perhaps it's not so bad as an OS (meh) but what it represents is not such an easy pill to choke down.

So yep, I'm suspecting there's a decent subset of the device-wielding world population who could be adequately happy with WP7. It's not astounding, but as a product it probably gets a passing grade. No gold star though.
