HAHA!!!!!!!! MOFO! fixed it.........................


In xterm:
devel-su
[password]
cd /etc/ssh/
rm sshd_config
mv sshd_config.dpkg.old(?) sshd_config

then reboot


not 100% sure of the file I renamed, it was a backup of the old config file, made when the app was updated.
