I haven't been able to exhaustively test, but it appears that the network slowdown (order of magnitude 10 or greater) affects wireless but not 3G. After installing the kernel, my 3G connection is now way faster than my wireless. Also it appears that the connection is moderately faster with the bleeding-edge wireless drivers.

Any progress on this issue?
