Well.. SSH can do that pretty good already (without tempering). I don't know if i could make it any better. Will see if i can come up with something..

btw.. how did you get hold of the image with a Mac? Have one with a similar problem on the swedish meego forum. The only thing i could come up with was Wine + Navifirm (if it work).
