In the server settings there is an option, under Administration, on how to behave when a second connection is recieved.
(Right click on the taskbar icon)

In Presence VNC, when you choose then connection, click Quality
  • If you are on a LAN select the LAN option
  • If you are running over the internet select the ISDN option
I run dual screens both @ 2560 x 1600 full colour (LAN option) with Presence VNC over a LAN with no speed issues. So I assume it's your connection speeds, use the lowest Quality option.

Addison, dfmirage is still there on the download page for TightVNC v1.3.1

The current version of TightVNC doesn't utilize dfmirage yet, as dfmirage has only just been adapted for Window 7
