I'm not based in the UK.
Right now maemo.org is coming up blank (is that SOPA/PIPA related? - it's not showing anything so it's kind of hard to know), what type of assumptions does it make?

Although I tried to read this thread well I have been mainly reading it in a way to make sure the versions of source/binary I had were the most recent since the instructions didn't look like they were changing, is the "Backup method" a method where I:

1. Sync my new messages with Ovi Suite
2. Create a csv of new and old
3. Backup my current phone contents
4. Remove current sms-db (el-v1.db)
5. Run smsimporter on the csv....

If not I would greatly appreciate it if you told me which post/page I find the instructions so that I don't have to go over all 26 pages again, thanks.

I'm so sorry mr_jrt! I didn't connect between this thread and the thread I started before tumbling accross this thread in my mind!

I don't think I want to do the backup/restore route since that sounds way more destructive then just somehow getting the messages into the sqlite db.
I'm going to look at that tool now that maemo.org is again displaying.
