I think that you have to restart after that too ... 3. There is a suggestion of other user, so you could try too: "Completely remove the /home/user/.cache/tracker directory and rebooted. That got recreated, then smartsearch took some CPU for a very brief time. After that everything seemed to be back to normal." ... Use Filebox apps to do that (enable hidden files in Filebox, so you can find it) ...
