Or do you mean that App manager tells you it is installable?

If it really says it is installed, you should look thru your programs and see if it is there, somewhere! You did install the base repository, as specified here, right?

If it really says it is installed and really isn't, you should try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

I didn't get Canola to install myself until a few days ago.

Canola is not the only good media player, btw. Lots of them are good, and each has its advantages.
