The alternative I use is sdict (see thread: http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ighlight=sdict)

It is essentially a dictionary program which allows for both explanatory dictionaries (for example Merriam-Webster's) and translations (love the English - Spanish and Spanish - English). As a big bonus you can also get wikipedia to work on it (all articles! without graphics). It is a very simple procedure. Just install sdict viewer for the IT and download the dictionaries you want at http://www.sdict.com/en/. Note that the english wikipedia collection consists of 3 files.
