Same here... I'd like to be able to have what I want, or don't, on the top level menu.

Short answer: There seems no way to do this with GUI tools.

Alternative answer: This is Linux. You can do what you want. You'll have to get into the config files for the window manager (matchbox, I think).

Follow up: Do you want to get into hacking at this level? In order for the N800 to be accessible to the general public, some sacrifices have been made. One of the major sacrifices I can see, and I'm willing to live with it, is very tight control by Nokia over the OS structure. If you go screwing with that, and using third party repositories is risky enough, you take the chance that some Nokia update down the road will pooch the whole thing because you changed a setting Noikia assumed would never change. So... hack away, but keep your OS images, and flashing tools handy.
