Hello all,
I tried OS2008 (on my n800) and quickly discovered there is no serious text editor (such as leafpad which can edit a 400k text file). So I rolled back to 2007.
Unfortunately, there is a problem reinstalling Python (I get the message:
Code:
The service is temporarily unavailable. We are very sorry for the inconvinience it may cause.
Is there a problem with the repository, or are we destined to not have python on OS2007, now that OS2008 is here?
TIA,
Craig...
[edit] OK, I see the problem (elsewhere in the forums). For some reason the hostname is incorrect for the maemo repositories. One should edit /etc/apt/sources.list and remove the 'i' from repository.maemo.org to repostory.maemo.org
Now the python install works, whew!
