I asked Nokia about the problem. Sounds to me like they want me to send it to them so that they can repair it and charge me a some hefty cash.
Since I bought it from CircuitCity's website, Am I able to just drive to my local CircuitCity and get an exchange for a new one?
Funny thing is, seams like everyone who bought theirs after Christmas has a "broken" device..
Here is the email:
Dear Jeffrey, Thank you for e-mailing the Nokia Care Contact Center. We apologize for the delay in responding to your e-mail message and greatly appreciate your patience. Nokia realizes that a functional tablet is important to you and regrets that you have experienced difficulties with your Nokia N800 Internet Tablet not powering on. Jeffrey based in the information that you have provided it seems that your Nokia N800 Internet Tablet may be experiencing a hardware problem. You may want to return your device to the point of purchase for refund or replacement options. However if you would like to have your device repaired, we recommend having your Nokia N800 Internet Tablet evaluated by a Nokia-trained technician. Please visit our web site,
www.nokiausa.com
, to obtain information on repair services. Once there, select "Get support and software" and then "Repair and warranty". On the Repair and warranty web page, select "Read more" under Repair. On the web site, you will be given detailed instructions for your personalized repair options, as well as local Authorized Service Center (ASC) contact numbers and locations, if available. Please have your serial number available when you go to the web site, and remember to keep a back-up copy of important data stored in your device. Please note that liquid and physical damage are not covered by the warranty. If the out of warranty device is "repairable", you will be contacted with a repair quote before the repair begins. If the device is deemed "un-repairable", it will be returned to you without prior notification. The out of warranty repair charge may vary depending on product and nature of the repair. Repair Prices do not include any applicable taxes and shipping & handling. We hope that you find this information helpful. If you have any additional questions, please contact us. To ensure proper handling, please continue to use the current subject line. Thank you for choosing Nokia for your mobile needs.
