I need some help please on what directory to extract 'python2.5-dateutil_1.4.1-1.tar.gz' to.

I have downloaded the tar.gz file from extras and think I can extract it but where does it have to go to get it to work?

I sort of know what I'm doing here but any guidance would be appreciated.

Is there a better way to get this package installed on my N900?
