Maybe desktop cant resize desktop to 800x480? Can you add custom resolution 800x480 to desktop computer?
For rdesk, I used the same options as your example. Both machines I attempted to connect to are running Vista (ugh). One has Home Premium, the other has Ultimate. I have no idea how to add 800x480 resolution.
