Sorry, but there was somewhat of a war here. Least you forget, you (and I) both played our parts in it. There was a push from several people in the Harmattan/MeeGo camp to "drop that dead OS" and "move to the future". I still have a calendar reminder ticking on that bet btw... And a sneaking suspicion that "most N900 users", even TMO active ones, will have not shifted by June.

There was an element of separatism in N950/N9 that didn't exist (at least not at the same level) in other transitions, as I've already noted. Yes, there were some that had issues and swore to never buy another Nokia product again (gerbick can confirm that ), but there were an equal number that wanted the new shiny. In the end, there was still room for them to all live together and make peace after the boom of the new cycle. That didn't happen with N9. That's a core difference.

Again, I'm not saying it's not happening. I'd personally like to see the family back together. And I think that can happen, now that the steam roller has effectively squashed everyone involved, and we're all in "dead end" OSes. But that needs to be desired on both sides, or it won't work.
