We're openly discussing about problems with Nemein/X-Fade for a 7 months already. How is it "magically" going to help, if people paying the bills don't want to "discipline" them a little? Maybe it's time to ask them, if they're going to do what they're "sponsored" to do, and if they're not, maybe it's time to sponsor someone else?

Plans and priorities.
Well, my
1st priority
and plan is to fix issues with infrastructure maintainership. I would like to hear Nokia position here - if cooperation between people maintaining infrastructure and Council is going to be so unsatisfying, is Nokia going to accept community will of changing infr. tech staff? IMO, problem of "hands tied" (Nokia paying bills, yet not demanding real work in return, Council not paying bills, so tech staff having Council in... *deep* respect, lets say) is first hot potato to settle now.
2nd priority
- determining, if cooperation with Nokia (overall, including tech staff payed by Nokia - no matter what fancy "sponsorship" mechanism is going on here) is making Community benefit or lose, in long term. This is going to be open question, answered again and again, as time passes and situations change. Variant
a
mean positive cooperation with Nokia, variant
b
mean non-satisfying results.
3.a
Keeping to make infrastructure better and better for developers, overcoming existing problems with infrastructure maintainers help (sounds kinda fairytale'ish...).
3.ab
(existing in both cases)
Clarification of confusing statement from Nokia about community governance. SD69 was asking this via e-letters, quoting previous statements, and statements made my marias during last meeting with Council (180 degrees opposite). Haven't got any answer.
3.b
- Getting info about current resources used by Maemo ifnrastructure. Sounds trivial, yet, when
SD69
asked it,
marias
wasn't able to give more precise answers than "I have no idea".
4.b
Steady preparing infrastructure migration, solving issues of creating legal entity (foundation), dropping trademarks, etc. At the same time, negotiating with Nokia about lifetime of closed source binary repositories (PR's, and so goes on), and possibility to allow us redistributing it (still in closed way), when Nokia decide to shut down Fremantle repos.
---
I think I doesn't need to add, that variant
"a"
fit's my liking much more.

Thanks for You 2cents,
joerg_rw
, doesn't need to add that I 100% agree. BTW, good point with supl.nokia.com - will add it to list of investigated issues. It's quite ridiculous, that N900 users must set supl.google.com instead...
SD69
got a point here. As passing Council membership is smooth process, I'm perfectly sure that - having in mind nomination period extended by a month - current Council is fully entitled to make practical moves regarding OBS.
