No, not really. That's why I didn't press the issue. I am aware that noop sheduler use less cpu then cfq or deadline but there is somewhere a RedHead comparission floating around the Internet, saying that that other sheduler have only little cpu more strain but better I/O throughput. The n900 is no PC so would this matter?

There have also been a more recent disscussion on LKML about the default cfq and that deadline would be better on non-spinning storage. Talking about fast non-spinning storage devices and is sdhc class 6-10 deadline "fast" or cfq "slow" to improve?

Lastly I am not so sure about the driver quality of sdcard and emmc in the "old" kernel versions we use.

Unless we do a real Benchmack and stability Test, we wouldn't really know. So I see no reason to say no to noop but still nor sure.
