I have tried OS2007, OS2008, and OS2008 r&d mode.
tried wirelesstools:
ifconfig wlan0 down
ifconfig wlan0 hw ether XX:XX:X....
ifconfig wlan0 up
tried macchanger.

All lead to the same place. They will not let me reconnect to the network with the bogus MAC address.
