Just for the record, as part of "how early You can modprobe fbcon" contest:

putting it just after MODULE_PATH line also works. It makes it 3th line in script (not counting comments) and first actual command to execute, and gives super early rolling text. I seriously doubt, if it could be put earlier, before module path declaration. Someone got balls to check it and rise?
