Kojacker makes a great case for inclusivity, however...
Does the source of an application have to be uploaded to the community repositories in order for the binary to reside there?
I think it's imperative we use the repos otherwise in a years time (say), a privately hosted entrant can be lost to the community. That's my only proviso, I'd hate for a contestant to win a prize, but then the community can't make use of the application further down the line.
Ah, I just remembered last year we had entrants submitting to the Ovi store.
Does anyone have any objections to my line of reasoning for using public repositories (Ovi store/AppsForMeego/maemo.org) as the hosting place for entries? And if not can we enshrine that into the regulations?
@misterc
It's in the interests of the developer to write for as many platforms as possible in order to gain more votes, so I doubt the n900 will be sidelined.
PS can someone with tag-editing priveliges add the twitter hashtag #mccXII to this thread please?
Edit:
@misterc again. Last year we had a table where people can propose usecases they desire, the same can be done for this competition.
