I also got this bug on the first run of Yappari. Rebooting my device solved it.
I had Whatsapp running on a virtual android, but I shut it down before installing Yappari on my n900.

P.S. Scorpius, thank you very much for your effort! I was getting kind of isolates without Whatsapp.
