Relax, be happy
MS will never purchase Nokia. They are there only for the patents. They will run down the value of the company and finally purchase the patents from Nokia. What is left will be sold to some unknown company and they will announce that they will continue supporting Nokia customers and continue to keep Nokia as a separate entity. We all believe it.

Warning to any company planning to collaborate/partner with Microsoft. They are the vultures of the IT world. They will kill your company within few years.

Novell, Microsoft partnership brought down Novell. By partnering with Microsoft, opensource crowd hated Novell. Microsoft acted like they were selling SuSE licenses to their customers. The only intention for Microsoft was to kill the Linux. They did a wonderful job by partnering with Novell and confusing and dividing the Linux community. The is the old divide and rule methodology used by the West for ages.

They are doing the same thing here. Nokia was very close with its N9 OS to be a very competitive Linux option. It is is a threat to M$. They know that like Apple desktop share increase after iPhone, a successful Linux mobile platform can really threaten the Windows desktop market. They don't really care about WP.

If you look at the various eFlop announcements, we will see that he also successfully confused the entire Linux community. We Linux lovers are all confused.

I am pretty sure, Microsoft will announce next week that they are the one who purchased the patents from Nokia for an undisclosed amount (<1B). Then in the next few weeks or months Nokia will be sold (for few million).

In our heart, we are all sad that a great opportunity to finally have an open Linux platform for mobile devices was killed by Microsoft. I loved Qt, I will be very sad if they kill also.

I am confident that no Microsoft or Nokia can stop us continuing to work hard to move forward with our dream. If they drop/kill Qt, I am sure someone will fork it and we will have what we need.

So, no worries. If not Nokia, someone else will come.

RIP NOKIA
***** Dividing People ****

Maybe in the future, we can just buy a mobile phone with no OS and can load our favorite Linux OS. SuSE or CentOS or what ever distribution.

Look at the bright side, then we will be able to fight which distribution is best on mobile phones. I am confident we will never stop. That is in our blood.
