It would be much more fun if the core system and features were prime-time. It would also be great for Nokia to treat the OS with a more serious attitude as it's being marketed as an Internet Tablet for consumer use. Nowhere in the literature does it say that you need to spend hours dealing with inane minutia unknown to about 90% of the web users who will buy one! I'd say that gives the poll some meaning to them.

In this forum you have become a minority unless you haven't looked around at all the newb threads. What's wrong with showing Nokia in yet another thread that they have failed the majority of their buyers on a hot-selling product this Xmas season? Who cares if they don't pay attention? Wouldn't you rather pare down this forum to more senior users such as yourself to keep fools like me from posting nonsense about a DEFECTIVE product? Then you should applaud my post without disdain. My post should help perpetuate your cause and repel prospective technonoobs from this site and the purchase of an IT. Thanks for your post!
Such AMAZING insight right after the holidays where the N800 topped sales charts and Amazon and sold through at other large retailers! OF COURSE there are new users (like you) with problems in the forums. (And the repository troubles certainly haven't helped) However, as far as the ratio of angry new consumer posts go, it's the same in ANY product forum after an influx of new sales. You should see some of the crap I had to read over xmas looking for iPod touch answers for my mother.

The problem here is you are making a blanket statement that the OS is "defective" when many of us are using it successfully every day. My MicroB isn't crashing, my 8GB SDHC cards are not unmounting, I'm placing SIP voice and video calls, etc -- all with the built in software. Am I really the exception, or is it possible there are some hardware and new user issues at work being discussed in the forums?

Furthermore, it would be one thing to consolidate the *****ing in to one post, but then you decided to make another with a completely meaningless poll to "get Nokia's attention" and serve as a "warning" to others? Sure, that will drive the point home. Realists will always see through extremist posts like this and IMO others are beyond help.

I would:

1) Return the Nokia
2) Order a better(?) device
3) Try reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand for some balance. She does share your love for lengthy prose.

Carry on with your poll, I won't take up any more space.
