That link doesn't explain much at all. There is no mention why the modified NT kernel couldn't support a single core system or lower ram. Todays hardware cannot run the NT kernel because the modified NT kernel has not been written to support it. The reason we will not see a community version is because we cannot modify it, unless your MS buddy can provide kernel source. We only have access to the windows research kernel.
