IMO overclocking is recommended too much.
It's not really required if you look after it and don't install so much rubbish.

OP Do you have Devel and Testing enabled in HAM if so disabling them will speed up your apt-get's
How can I check if I do have them enabled or not? I think the repositories have been added so therefore I need them to search for certain programs. I won't overclock just yet but I am about to install the CSSU update and am backing everything up to my SD card now!
