You need to think beyond Ios and Android, mate! Even though we haven't seen it yet, the future of mobile computing is NOT Android, Ios or any other platform that is so restrictive and closed that it's almost useless. The future of mobile computing is implementing a full OS like Linux that provides existing PC applications natively and then layering things like a dialler, SMS, and camera integration on top of that. Imagine a device with a C/Python/Java compiler? Imagine the power you would have if you could write your own drivers to integrate with hardware, rather than relying on a limited SDK that Apple and Android provide? Even if you are providing a mass market edition of your phone, it wouldn't be hard to provide the same kind of Fischer Price layer over the Linux installation that would give novice users the same simple UX as the likes of Android and Apple. That is the future of mobile computing and I hope that Jolla have enough vision to realise it.
