^Latest build of Fennec is much better for me, but I'm not using the one from the store, using an Aurora build from Romaxa's site.

This could be the best of both worlds . . .
See pg 6 for the full cmd line argument to use, you just have to edit it into the .desktop file.
What would be even better, is a way to add the option to switch between Opera's & the native VKB back into the GUI (prolly not doable).
Or perhaps implement a separate GUI that loads when you launch Opera, & gives you the choice there, before loading Opera.
Then we have the two nice features the newest version brings (see prior page), plus that...
