I don't think that the N900 will receive this update, I tried installing the linked .deb, but dependency errors were occured. Itried to install these debian6 armel packages, or to recover the original ones from the maemo6 repo, but no success. My phone failed, and didn't want to boot, so I had to reflash it. Dependencies except Qt:
Code:
Unpacking operamobile-labs (from operamobile-labs_12_438567.00.2_armel.deb) ...
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of operamobile-labs:
 operamobile-labs depends on libfreetype6 (>= 2.4.3); however:
  Version of libfreetype6 on system is 2.3.9-2osso2+0cssu1.
 operamobile-labs depends on libgcc1 (>= 1:4.3.0); however:
  Version of libgcc1 on system is 1:4.2.1-4maemo13+0m5.
 operamobile-labs depends on libstdc++6 (>= 4.4.0); however:
  Version of libstdc++6 on system is 4.2.1-4maemo13+0m5.
dpkg: error processing operamobile-labs (--install):
 dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Errors were encountered while processing:
 operamobile-labs
tried sid and stable packages like this: libc6_2.11.3-3_armel.deb
error:
Code:
dpkg: `ldconfig' not found on PATH.
dpkg: 1 expected program(s) not found on PATH.
NB: root's PATH should usually contain /usr/local/sbin, /usr/sbin and /sbin.
I tried to solve like this: ubuntuforum link
but at this step:
Code:
dpkg-deb -x libc6_2.11.3-3_armel.deb libc6-unpacked/
the phone turned off, and didn't boot.
Also I added and removed maemo6(meego harmattan repos), I tried to install these packages, but failed, for one second two dependencies disappeared but after a retry, they appeared again. This was before I tried the deb packages from debian 6. Ther was no reboot between. Any idea guys?
