Ok, very simple guide:
  1. Mentally prepare to lose your AGTL settings. Downloaded geocaches and maps will not be affected.
  2. Close AGTL if it is running.
  3. Open the terminal.
  4. Enter "mv .agtl/config .agtl/config.old" and press return.
  5. Done.
