Precisely, dont let the water dry inside, it will ruin the device.
The white spots on the circuits below is what is left from letting the water dry.
This guy on the picture was lucky enough that the circuits was on the underside of the card , and that the water thanks to gravity dried on the plastics and not on the circuitboard.
